Daniel: Newborn

I had the opportunity to photography Daniel at the hospital when he was two days old. This is special because I also got to spend time with his mommy while she was in labor to help her cope with the labor. This is a new found love of mine, helping women in labor. We will see where that takes me:) Daniel was born weighing 9 lbs. 7 ounces. He was a big boy. Isn't he a cutie?

Jace: One Year

Jace is one of my son Tyler's best friends. We had a fun time at Lacy Park shooting Jace's one year portraits. It was great to experiment with the letters from Jace's name. We also had to get a shot with his buddy Horton, the elephant. He has been taking pictures with this little guy ever since he was born.
Daddy showed up just in time to help Jace smile just a little bit more. He was a good sport, despite the fact that it was almost dinner time. Matt, Jenny and Jace are such a sweet family and I really had a great time capturing them in these photos.

Four Cuties

These are the closest brothers and sisters that I have ever seen. Not only are they the best baby sitters to my son, but they are so sweet to each other. We decided to surprise their mom by taking this pictures for her. She really like them and gave me permission to put them on my website, which I was excited about. Don't they look like child models?

Baby Daniel: Pregnancy

I am just so in love with babies and birth now after having my first son in November 2008. It is such a beautiful thing, the creation of a baby. I know so many people that are pregnant right now and it is such a wonderful thing. Don't get me wrong though...I can wait a while before I jump on the band wagon again.
Lois and Sergio are expecting in October. They have already named their baby boy, Daniel. Little Sergio took some convincing, but we got him to take some very sweet pictures with his soon-to-be little brother and mama. Isn't she a beautiful pregnant women.

Visser Family

I just love kids, especially kids that are full of energy like Emma and Max. Matt and Sarah Visser asked me to come and photograph their family in Claremont. I worked for Matt at APU in the Office of Ministry and Service for one of my internships in grad. school. I was excited because the Claremont colleges have beautiful campuses.
I learned my lesson real fast though:) Taking a 1 1/2 year old and a three year old to an open field is just asking for a work out. I like to work out though. If anything, mom and dad enjoyed the morning off with their little ones and I think we got some great pictures in between.

Max is supporting his favorite team, University of Michigan. Doesn't he look like such a professional athlete here:)

Emma is a little princess. We had a great time pretending we were in a castle. She wasn't feeling real well, but she looks awfully cute in this picture.
Family fun with the Visser's

Baby Boyz

These are some of my son, Tyler's, little buddies, Clayton and Ethan. They were born 4 weeks apart from each other and are about the same size:) They had a great time together today as we did a photo shoot in my living room. Little Ethan has very catchy blue eyes, doesn't he? Clayton is a big boy like his daddy. He is 6 weeks old and 12 pounds. He loves to eat. That a boy Clayton.

Way kids in Kimonos

The Ways are going to be in a Museum Of History in Pasadena. The museum is doing an exhibit about the their different ethnicities and their family history. They have rich family history here in Pasadena. The Kawai family(Ally's maiden name) has been involved in the Pasadena community for a long time. Her dad's cousin was the 1st Rose Queen of an ethnic minority. Her Great Uncle played baseball with Jackie Robinson. These things are special because at the time their was a lof of racial tension the arouse due to World War II. Their mother Great Great Grandfather built the bridge in the Japanese garden at Huntington library. You can go check out their exhibit along with others from May 29-August 28.
I had the opportunity to take their picture that will be displayed in the exhibit. Ally wanted them to wear their traditional Japanese Kimonos. We did their hair and took them to Cal Tech. I love Cal Tech because their are so many different places to take pictures. Thanks to my friend Tim we were able to go without getting kicked out again. He is a student their and showed security his ID, so we did not have to have a permit. Permits by the way are $250.

Couples Fun

Yesterday Jamie Dulaney and I got to spend time with some couples from the Foothill Free Methodist Church in Azusa. Most of them are students that are in a small group with our friends Adam and Becca Carpenter. I have never seen a group of people love on a little girl as much as these students love on Little Sophia. They just adore her. It is so cute. They are like family to Adam, Becca and Sophia. They all talk to her in Chinese. It will be so fun to hear Sophia speaking Chinese in a few years.
We met them at California Institute of Technology in Pasadena. We started the afternoon with a birthday celebration for Clare who turned 26. Happy Birthday Clare! It is Chinese tradition for the birthday girl to cut the cake first and then everyone cuts the cake in order of who's birthday comes next. I love how the Chinese are so rich in tradition. After the celebration Jamie and I took each couple around Cal Tech to take portraits of them. Unfortunately, when we got to the last two couples security paid us a visit. Apparently you have to have a permit to take pictures there if you are not a student. We just moved on toward the street and finished up. We will take Jamie's husband Tim with us next time or get a permit. Below are some of my favorites. I was really happy with how they turned out and I hope they are too.

Aiden: 1 year

Aiden turns one in a week. Isn't he just a doll? He is having a Noah's ark birthday party. His mom brought this cute little Noah's ark plush for the pictures. We started with some indoor pictures with some black and white back grounds. Aiden was on the move, so we moved outside. Thankfully the rain let up for a while so we could get some nice shots. The light was perfect...overcast! I really like the look of the brown fence with Aidens outfit, so we tried this one next to the wood. I am happy with how it turned out.
